1. 1. INTRODUCTION TO THE DEPARTMENT
      • The Department of Community Health Nursing to provide in depth knowledge in community health nursing concepts, philosophy, principles and practice.
      • The Department functions with the belief that every patient coming to a health care institution belongs to a family and community and hence considers holistic care are of utmost importance.
   2. PHILOSOPHY

Department of community health nursing believe, accept and recognize in:-

      • The possession by individual of potentialities and resources for managing their own lives.
      • The importance of freedom to express one’s individuality.
      • The great capacity for growth within all social beings.
      • The right of the individual to basic necessities ( food, shelter, medical care) without which fulfillment of life is often blocked.
      • The need for individuals to struggle and strive to improve their life and environment.
      • The right of the individual to help in times of need and crisis.

1. 1. • Gain in depth knowledge in community health nursing concepts, philosophy, principle and practice.
      • Realize the importance and techniques of epidemiological approaches for solving community health problems
      • Develop skills in community health assessment
      • Develop skills in identifying health needs of the individuals, family and community and demonstrate skill in providing comprehensive family health care using available resources.
      • Demonstrate skill in programme planning, implementation and evaluation
      • Develop ability to function as a member of the community health team and initiate positive change in health care system.
      • Integrate aspects of promotion of health and prevention of illness in community.
      • Develop a culture of evidence-based practice.
      • Acquire an understanding of quality assurance and standardization of care
      • Develop leadership abilities for the advancement of practice of professional nursing.

      Department is collaborated with governmental and non-governmental agencies in provision of community outreach services and also provides collaborative services with Unava PHC, Daboda PHC, Dehagahm CHC, Pethapur Urban Health Cetre

Department has a well equipped lab with computer access. All necessary equipment to meet the service needs in the rural and urban community are available in the department & has got educational models which ease the students in teaching learning activities.
